Samantha - Daughter of Apollo - 7th yearI look around, and I find myself In the strawberry fields. The last place I would be. I have my bow strapped on my back so I grip the string. I look around and see nobody. So I take a hand full of berries and put them on a bench. I take and arrow out and shot them. I let out a breath of relief when I see that I hit the middle of the group. So I didn't lose my touch. I thought to myself. I sit on the bench and pull the arrow out. I look around and still see nobody. So I took another arrow and shot it at a tree. I wasn't aiming so I don't know if I hit my mark. I go to take the arrow when I heard a snap of a twig. I quickly got the arrow out of the tree and got my bow ready. "Who is there. Come out." This was not the first time somebody snuck up on me. Most people could.

[glow=5C6470,4,300]Logan Castello[/glow] He had finished ealry at archery, so he had decided to stroll around camp. Slung over his back, Logan's quiver added a gentle and familiar weight to his step. His hold on the silver bow was more like a caress than anything else. Meandering carelessly through camp, Logan eventually found himself at the strawberry patch. Then came the voice of a girl, calling him out of the bushes. He hadn't realized she was there. Stepping softly from the bushes, the gentle youth stared down the pointed arrow at the girl. She was scared, it was wrong to scare a girl."Please excuse me, I didn't mean to startle you." His words came out like moonshine, like the hum of the bees, like the downy clouds. He nodded thoughtfully at the bench and said with just a hint of irony,"Most people don't practice archery in the strawberry patch."

I know most people didn't. I hadn't even mean to come here. I just walked and found myself here. I don't even like this place. This camp my life. It's like a big fairy tale. I look at the boy and figure he is an Artemis kid. I know he isn't one of my siblings and I know he has a bow. The only other god I know that uses bows and arrows is her. "I know. I didn't even mean to be here. Guess I was just wanting to get away from my cabin."

[glow=5C6470,4,300]Logan Castello[/glow] Logan nodded. He couldn't tell if she was offended or just...well, anyway, he couldn't tell."You dislike your cabin?" He was trying to think which cabin she could be in, but he couldn't decide. He knew she wasn't one of his mother's, and the next obvious option was his uncle, Apollo. Still, many of the demigod females used bows. There was an elegance to archery that most weaponry lacked. She was certainly beautiful, she could be one of Aphrodite's... "I'm sorry, but which cabin is that?"

Well there are a lot of chooses for me. Some think Aphrodite but no I'm an Apollo kid. I look at this kid. He is just a little cute but I know better than to get into a relationship here. No matter what one of the two in the couple will get chosen. It's almost a given. "Apollo. That's my dad. And no I don't hate my cabin." Is all I say.

[glow=5C6470,4,300]Logan Castello[/glow] Logan chuckled softly. "Well then, that makes us first cousins." Of course, most of the kids at camp were related somehow, but then, most didn't have the same grandfather and grandmother, or parents who were twins. There wasn't enough faithfulness amongst the gods for that. "My name is Logan Castello," he said, holding out his free hand, "Pleased to meet you."

"Samantha." Is all I said to him. I don't like my family well I do but I like my real family more. I miss my mom, I want to meet my dad. I know I might never get the chance unless I win the games but more than likely I wont win. I look at him and try to fake a smile.

[glow=5C6470,4,300]Logan Castello[/glow] She was unhappy, or didn't want to talk. Logan couldn't tell. Her smile looked more like a grimace, and she hadn't shaken his hand. Logan awkwardly withdrew it, trying to think of what might be troubling her. Nothing came to him. The poor girl did look distressed though. Perhaps she'd like to talk about it? "You seem to be upset. May I ask what's troubling you? Or would you rather I left?"

Narrating, Talking, Thoughts, Others Talking Did I want him to leave? Was There something wrong? Well there was something wrong. I mean my dad is Apollo a Greek myth well a Greek god. Still a myth. Well I guess he is alive and real. I look at this boy and think I like this boy but he is sorta weird. "Look I am alright. I'm fine in this world that makes no living sense what so ever. And I wont make you stay if you don't want too." I look him in the eyes and smile.

[glow=5C6470,4,300]Logan Castello[/glow] She smiled. She said sweet words, but they were edged with bitterness. Sure, their lives made no sense. They could blame it on their parents, but even if they were only mortals, life would still be senseless. But that’s not what Samantha wanted to hear. So it came back to the old question: do you tell people what they want to hear, or what they need to hear? But Logan couldn’t bring himself to tell a lie, or even a half truth. He would risk offending her with this…he could only communicate his earnestness, his honest interest in her well-being, through his tone and eyes. “Bitterness won’t change our fates. It won’t punish our parents. It only makes our lives more miserable. Don’t be upset about who you are, decide who you will become.”

Narrating, Talking, Thoughts, Others Talking Decide who I will become. He sounds like a teacher. I wonder if people have told him that. They probably did. Than again maybe they didn't, either way it was cute.
Did I just think that me daughter of Apollo, just say something about a boy was cute? I would say boys are cute but never anything about them. What is wrong with me?"You know you sounded like a teacher almost." After I said that I gave him a flirty smile. Great now I seam like an Aphrodite kid.

[glow=5C6470,4,300]Logan Castello[/glow] "Well, I can't exactly claim that bit of wisdom as my own, I learned it from a very wise girl..." Logan's mind drifted off to Nikki, the daughter of Athena who had practically raised him. She must be in her mid to late twenties by now, he couldn't be bothered to do the math. She had told him similar things once, and he was sure he had heard them from someone else. And here he was, just passing the words along. He smiled dreamily to himself. Funny how good advice gets passed along.

Narrating, Talking, Thoughts, Others Talking "Well, I can't exactly claim that bit of wisdom as my own, I learned it from a very wise girl..." A wise girl? There were a lot here. Most of the time they were Athena kids. Their mom is the goddess of wisdom so I can't really blame them for thinking they are so smart. I sighed and looked at the boy.Wow I am bad at trying to remember names."Who might that be?"

[glow=5C6470,4,300]Logan Castello[/glow] "Nikki Rodgers, she's long gone now. I believe she's living in Pennsylvania somewehere. She was a daughter of Athena..." A rustling came from the bushes. "Oh, I forgot. Nox, Come." Logan chuckled happily as his hunting dog came lolloping obediently from the bushes and sat by his side. She was very pretty, with a silky brown and white speckled coat and long reddish-brown ears. Her tail wiggled uncontrollably as Logan reached down to pat the dog's soft side.

Narrating, Talking, Thoughts, Others Talking I listened as a he explained who the girl was. Than a dog came out of the bushes. It was a hunting dog. He must be thinking he is impressing me. Only I have a Hellhound friend. It might not be my pet but it is nice to me. It is not Miss O' Leary.
Nox was the dog's name. Hunting dogs did not usually like me. I guess that's why I have a Hellhound friend instead of a hunting dog. "She seams nice."That was the only thing I could say. I did not want to spook the little thing.
