Bellatrix ENYA Thornwood Enya stood at the entrance to the labyrinth, absentmindedly fingering the sheath she had looped about her belt. Within the sheath was a sword, long and cruel, ready for the ordeal that was about to come. But Enya's mind was elsewhere. She wasn't going into the maze alone, she had secured a companion for the adventure. Zelda Ordon. She had heard that the girl was a tactical genius...although the friend who had told her that was prone to exaggeration. Enya had spent some time observing the girl, and she had ended up deciding that she would be a good companion. She was great at archery, she was aggressive, she was ambitious. All good things when you're going into the Labyrinth.
Another good thing would be punctuality. Where is she?

Zelda ran towards the Labyrinth, her bow strapped across her back. Her sheath fell to hit right between her shoulders, hitting right between the blades with every stride. As she got closer, she could see Enya's form in front of the entrance. She stopped in front of her, running a hand through her wind blown hair. "Sorry about that... I got a bit caught up," she explained, checking to make sure her bronze dagger was still strapped to the inside of her jacket.

Bellatrix ENYA Thornwood Enya nodded. No point in prying, she was just lucky that this older girl was willing to hang out with her."Right, no problem." Pulling out her sword, Enya began swiping nonchalantly at the grass, "A girl from my cabin was in here yesterday. She said besides the usual obstacles there were a few harpies and hellhounds. Mr. D seemed to want me to believe there was a manticore in here though..." Enya raised her sword, wiping away little bits of vegetation, and looked questioningly at Zelda. "Alright. I'm set. You ready to go in?"

Zelda nodded a bit, thinking about what she had just said. "Well, we better be prepared for anything. I think Mr. D could really be right about the manticore." she muttered, walking a bit closer to the teenager. She pulled her bow around to that she was holding the handle and notched one of her arrows. "Ready." Zelda broke into a grin, a bit nervous about going into the Labyrinth.

Bellatrix ENYA Thornwood Enya noted the daughter of Artemis's nervous smile, but it didn't bother her. She knew what this girl was capable of. The pair descended into the cavernous maze and were immediately swallowed up in swirling confusion. Looking right and left, Enya took in her surroundings. From the left came sounds like the flapping of wings. Probably harpies or some other carnivorous bird... From the right came a stench and a cool breeze...that could be anything. Enya turned back to Zelda. "So, Master Tactician. Which way?"

Zelda bit her lip and narrowed her eyes, trying to figure out which direction would be best. If we go left... the flapping wings may be something big enough to pick us up and kill us. If we stab it while in the air, we'd fall to the ground from at least ten feet and risk breaking a bone... she thought, frowning. And if we go right, there could be dead bodies, which isn't a big deal. But there may be something bigger that way, but with my bow and Enya's sword, we could handle it..."I think we should go right," Zelda announced, starting towards that side.

Bellatrix ENYA Thornwood Enya nodded and waited for Zelda to lead the way. They moved cautiously through the dark hall, their feet crunching on Enya-didn't-want-to-know-what. There was a dull pounding in her ears, whether from the tight darkness or her rising adreniline, she wasn't sure. They moved around the corner in silence...and found the source of the cool air. A giant fissure across the floor, impossible to cross, with a chilly wind rising from it's depths. Maybe from some underground creek? The stink was still wafting from ahead. Enya looked over at Zelda again. "Alright. I brought a grapling hook. Let's hope it's not too wide."
Dice Roll: One the hook misses, Two it catches
[dice=2] It caught. So it wasn't far across. "Probably would have been smarter to throw it at the roof and swing across. Oh well. Can you tie it down somewhere here? We'll just shimmy across."
