In which Sparrow Welcomes You and Demonstrates Her Love of Strikethroughs

We are really looking forward to future growth and of course lots ofmaiming, cruelty, and deathOlympian Games fun. So feel free to look around, we would love your input and questions! Just don't look in the Chamber of Planning, that's for Gamemakers only. Not like we have any threads up in there yet anyway...Anyway, welcome! And be our guest!

In which Sparrow Explains Why You Want to Join the Site and Comes to Grips with Her Own Insanity
So you've been welcomed! You do feel welcomed right? And now your question is, "Right, so besides the fact that Sparrow isinsanely coola complete crackpot," (there go those strikethroughs again!) "why should I join the site?" Well, I was hoping you'd ask that! You were going to ask that, yes? I'm not completely loony? Good. So here's why you should join: We're awesome. If that's not enough for you, you're way too demanding. But since I'm supposed to be some sort of "responsible moderator" or something, here are a few good reasons:
1) We're a new site. That means right now, we have a small community. You have the oppurtunity to become an integral part of that community, and roleplay with all sorts of different people! You are also far more likely to be reaped! Which is cool, cause let's be honest, the only reason people join Hunger Games sites is to fight to the death in the arena. Fun, yes?
2) We are still in beta stages. Which sounds, I don't know, tedious I guess. Remember Pottermore? (All rights to JK Rowling and Sony) But it's not like that here. Woot! Woot! Here, you get the chance to observe and participate in the first Olympian Games. You get to give us your ideas, you get to help shape the site, you get to be creative! And all you have to do is call this number: 1-800-555-5555. But wait! There's more! Join now and we'll double the offer! No...wait...we won't...sorry, it's my demigod blood at work
3) We're not all crazy. I am, but we're not ALL that way. In fact, the members here are very friendly, and very eager to rp. We still don't have a huge community, so that means you can actually get to know people in the chatbox instead of holding on for dear life. You'll probably get to roleplay and plot with everyone, and you will also be in the games constantly...or frequently at least.
So! If you're not totally afraid to join a site with a crazy mod, then hop aboard!

In Which Sparrow Attempts to Seriously Address your Concerns
In Which Sparrow Attempts to Seriously Address your Concerns
We are a new site, and so naturally, you have some concerns. I'll address a few here, and feel free to PM me if you have others!
1) "Right. So Sparrow, you mentioned it's a small community, and that's exactly what concerns me. I mean, how do I know how much activity this site is going to get?"
Great Question! Despite our small numbers, I can tell you from personal experience that you will have multiple threads going on at a time. If this is a subject that seriously concerns you, here's my advice: Create an account, and maybe one or two characters. Roleplay here as much or as little as you'd like until the numbers and activity meet your personal standards. I understand not wanting to put a bunch of time into a site you're unsure of, but if a bunch of our guests do this, we could have a huge member base, and eventually, lots and lots of threads! For instance, today (as in, the day I'm writting this) we've had seventy visitors in the past twenty four hours alone!
2) "Okay, but say I join. I consider myself an advanced RP'er, and I just don't see very many lengthy posts here."
A legitimate concern, and one that I thought over before joining. Without the advanced part...but you know what I mean. My advice would be fairly similar to my last answer, but with a few additions.
- There are some of us here who would be happy to do longer posts if that's what suits you. I've also known a few very skillful writers who wrote short (and incredibly enthralling) posts, so maybe don't judge everything by length. Maybe this is your chance to practice concise and compelling writting.
- If you're an advanced RP'er, you have other Roleplaying friends so...bring a buddy to the site and roleplay together. That sort of helps everyone. Also, the more advanced Rp'ers who join.....well you know where that's going.
- And lastly, lead by example. If you like the plot, and are thinking of joining, do. Write your long posts, and you just might find that others fall in line.
3) "Umm...actually, I was really excited about joining until you started trying to 'address concerns', and now I'm not so sure."
Forget everything I just said. FORGET IT!
"But-"
Eh!
"I jus-"
Stop!
"Can I-?"
Forget i-
"But I-"
Forget it young padawan. -waves hand like Jedi- Those were not the answers you were looking for.
