I walk around the circle where the cabins are. People run past me like I am invisible. Well one more thing I am good at. I make it to my cabin, and sit down on a step. I wait for something to happen. Only what would happen. I could make some lightning but that would be stupid.

Shelby was leaning against the side of her cabin, her brown eyes darting around. She found herself looking at another girl about her own age, sitting at the steps of the Zeus cabin. Curious about the girl she stalked closer, her footsteps silent. "Hello." Her voice was quiet. She hoped she didn't startle the girl.

I looked up from looking at the ground and see a daughter of Artemis. I smiled when she said hi. "Hi, I'm alicia." I said clutching my necklace. I never take it off. Not even when I take a shower. I just can't bear the thought of somebody taking it.

"Shelby." She said. It was rare for her to speak more than a few words at a time. She looked at the girls fist. She obviously had something in it, obvious from her grip. "Your first day here?" It was obvious from the way she acted. Shelby simply wondered why this girl hadn't come sooner. She obviously wasn't twelve. Hadn't the monsters come for her?

I wasn't new only I never left the cabin really. I couldn't stand the fact my dad was a god from Greek mythology. "No I have been here just not leaving my cabin. This is the first time in a long while I have been out of my cabin. I was shy, a girl who never left her cabin. A girl who only left her cabin for food. I sighed.

Shelby didn't say anything and didn't judge. "How long you been here?" She asked. "Three years for me." She looked over to her cabin. That had been her home for the past few years and couldn't imagine living anywhere else.

She was here longer than I was that was for sure. "I have been here for a year." and I did not want to be here. Is what I wanted to add but I didn't. I thought she would yell at me.

Shelby was suddenly seized by a thought. "What weapon do you use? Sword, spear, axe?" She asked. Shelby was hoping sword, though bow was her specialty, she wasn't horrible with a sword. She wasn't the greatest at the sword but she could use some practice. And perhaps a mock-battle would put the girl in better spirits.

What weapon did I use. I was good with a lot of them but I only took a liking to the swords I look at her and say "I can use them all but I have taken a liking to the swords. Why do you ask?"

"Because I am certainly out of practice with a sword." Shelby smiled. "And if you're cooped up in your cabin all day, I'm pretty sure you could use some practice as well." She looked the girl in the eye. "So do you accept my challenge?"

I did not want to fight her but I did want to help her. She seamed nice and even if I did help her it would be nice. Maybe I will even feel better about being here. "Sure I'll help you."
